According to Statistica, total food sales in the United States total nearly $1.5 trillion per year as customers make 1.5 trips to the grocery store per week, spending more than $100 per trip.

With all those trips to the store there are scores of plastic grocery bags used. In the United States alone, 100 billion bags are used per year with the average person using between 350 and 500 per year. The Environmental Protection Agency says that only two percent of plastic bags have been recycled in the past decade. On top of that, plastic are only used for about 25 minutes on average.

That also means that a lot of these plastic grocery bags end up in the trash, which does a great deal of harm to the environment. Plastic bags can take as many as 1,000 years to degrade and the bags breakdown into smaller toxic pieces which end up in the ocean and harm the food chain. In fact

It isn’t every day that a consumer finds a product where quality and creativity combine to make a dream product. But in the case of a white cotton nightgown, shoppers like myself may have found the ultimate dream purchase.

The elegance of cotton as a fabric cannot be denied. And the level of high end quality elegance in a white cotton nightgown increases according to the thread count. What exactly is thread count? It is basically an analysis of one square inch of fabric in which the number of horizontal and vertical woven threads are added up. The higher the thread count, basically, renders the fabric denser and more durable.

Cotton with a woven thread count of 200 or more is known as percale. Percale, a very elegant fabric, is ideal for a white cotton nightgown, or even cute pajamas of any color. With some personalizing–such as embroidery or a traditional monogram, a white cotton nightgown becomes a thoughtful gift to treasure. Monograms are created in a variety of styles,

Written by Swap Shop on May 7th, 2018. Posted in Skin imperfections

People around the world seem to constantly be trying out the latest skin care and cosmetics trends for anti-aging. But younger skin actually goes far beyond the things we lay on top of our bodies. A lot of it actually has to do with our lifestyle.

The Skin Cancer Foundation says more than 90% of the visible changes commonly attributed to skin aging are caused by the sun. Fortunately, there are a lot of things you can do besides staying out of the sun to prevent your skin from rapidly aging, and here are some of them.

Don’t Smoke
Smoking is one of the worst things you can do for your body and your skin. If you haven’t quit already, premature skin aging, stained teeth, wrinkles, increased psoriasis risk, and even cancer could be in your future. Smoking can actually increase wrinkles due to the facial motion of inhaling and exhaling the smoke. It also cuts off blood vessel circulation. Quitting now will keep you looking young and help you maintain that youthful glow.

Eat Antioxidants
In general, a healthy diet is great for your body. Not only does it keep you looking good on the inside, but it also keeps you looking good on the outside. Fruits and vegetables that contain antioxidants are perfect for your skin, so look for foods that contain vitamins B and E. Pile your plate high with fish, poultry, chickpeas, almonds, and even sunflower seeds. These treats can do wonders for your body.

Refrain from Sugar
While sugar isn’t the best for your body as a whole, it can also be terrible for your skin if eaten in high amounts. Researchers actually found a direct link between sugars such as glucose and greater production of advanced glycation end products. Even though sugar isn’t the best for you and your body, it can still be eaten a little bit at a time. So don’t overdo it and you’ll be fine.

While serums, chemical peels, spa services, and other cosmetic procedures are great, there are some things you can do right at home to keep your skin healthy and young. Which of the above tips will you be incorporating into your skin care routine?
